Stormwater Ponds – Ice Safety

Think twice – stay off the ice!

EPCOR contacted our community about activity on a stormwater pond in our neighbourhood.

Please remember, it is NOT safe to walk, skate, toboggan or play on stormwater ponds.

These ponds are engineered to collect and move melting snow and ice from streets and sidewalks, which often include salts and other ice melt products, making the ice unpredictable and dangerous.

Please talk to your family about the dangers of playing on or near these facilities. More information is available at https://www.epcor.com/ca/en/ab/edmonton/safety/neighbourhood/stormwater-management-facilities.html

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Community Traffic Concerns

Greetings Rosenthal Residents,

We have received concerns regarding the traffic in the community (volume of traffic on Rosenthal Blvd, the lack of crosswalks, speeding through the community).  Please know that we have contacted the City of Edmonton, EPS and Edmonton City Councilor Andrew Knack (Ward Nakota Isga) on this matter as well.

Their recommendation is to continue to have the residents of Rosenthal report through 311.

It is important to have as many residents as possible reporting concerns because the City’s Safe Mobility Team uses public traffic safety concerns, collision data, existing safety improvement and other technical considerations to help inform where they will install traffic calming measures, such as crosswalks and traffic lights.

Please report all traffic concerns by calling 3-1-1 or visit https://311.edmonton.ca/reports/list_services

Thank you for the care and concern of your community and neighbours.
